| Descrizione del dritto | Central field bears a large Urdu numeral within a rectangular cartouche formed by two horizontal ruled lines, flanked by decorative floral or foliate ornaments in the field. The legend in Nastaliq script occupies the upper and lower registers, invoking the blessing of the Sikh Guru and citing the name and title of Maharaja Bhupindar Singh Bahadur. The overall design follows the Mughal-influenced style traditional to North Indian princely state coinage of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. |

Bhupindar Singh acceded to the Patiala throne in 1900 at age nine, with a regent administering the state. This mohur, struck in 1902, falls within that regency period — making the authority under which it was issued a administrative formality as much as a regal one. Patiala maintained its own mint rights under the British paramountcy system, one of the few princely states permitted to strike gold coinage into the twentieth century.
KM#15 is sparsely documented in auction records, suggesting limited production runs rather than heavy ceremonial distribution.
