Obverse description The obverse depicts a highly detailed relief of a traditional Székely gate (Székelykapu), flanked by trees and a church steeple in the background. Within the arch of the gate, the full musical score and lyrics of the Székely Hymn are inscribed in relief, with Rovás (Old Hungarian) script appearing on the gate's crossbeam. The legend at the top names the hymn and its authors, with the engraver's initials FM visible in the lower right field.

Obverse lettering SZÉKELY HIMNUSZ
Szöveg: Csanády György · Zene: Mihalik Kálmán

"Ki tudja merre, merre visz a végzet
Göröngyös úton, sötét éjjelen.
Segítsd még egyszer győzelemre néped,
Csaba király a csillagösvényen.
Maroknyi székely porlik, mint a szikla
Népek harcától zajló tengeren.
Fejünk az ár ezerszer elborítja,
Ne hagyd el Erdélyt, Erdélyt, Istenem!"
