| Obverse description | In high relief, two draped allegorical female figures seated in a boat face one another: the allegory of France wearing a Phrygian cap and the allegory of America wearing a star-adorned crown. At the prow, a winged genius of Liberty in the oarsman's position faces them, also wearing a Phrygian cap. In the background, the Statue of Liberty rises above the harbour with celebratory vessels, and the legend arcs around the upper field with the date in Roman numerals in the centre. Signed O. ROTY in the lower left field. |
