| Obverse description | Armored and helmeted bust of Emperor Theodosius I facing right, pearl-diademed, depicted in three-quarter view with cuirass and paludamentum. The emperor carries a spear over his right shoulder and a large decorated shield on his left arm. The obverse legend reads DN THEODOSIVS PF AVG, distributed around the periphery within a beaded border, proclaiming him Dominus Noster and Pater Patriae Augustus. The portrait style is characteristic of late Roman imperial coinage, with bold, schematic modeling. |

| Reverse description | The emperor stands facing left aboard a galley, clad in military attire and holding a spear in his right hand, projecting imperial authority over the seas. At the helm of the vessel sits Victory, turned to the left, steering the ship — a powerful allegory of divine guidance of Roman rule. Depending on the officina variant, a wreath may appear in the left field. The reverse legend GLORIA ROMANORVM encircles the scene, with the mintmark CON followed by an officina letter appearing in the exergue or field, denoting the Constantinople mint. |
