Obverse description A palm wreath encircles the central field, its branches tied at the base, forming a decorative border around the Hebrew inscription. Within the wreath, a four-line paleo-Hebrew legend reads the name and title of the revolt leader. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of the emergency coinage struck during the Bar Kokhba Revolt. The overall style is bold and schematic, consistent with provincially produced hammered bronze coinage of the early second century CE.
