| Описание аверса | Central field bears a Bhadrapitha (sacred pedestal or altar used for the placement of devotional icons), depicted in stylized form with three lamps or flame elements rising above it. The design is rendered in a bold, archaic hammered style characteristic of Burmese coinage of the Konbaung dynasty, with the motif occupying the majority of the irregular flan. The overall composition reflects the Srikshetra artistic tradition, drawing on ancient Pyu iconographic conventions. |

Bodawpaya seized the Burmese throne in 1782 after ordering the execution of his nephews and consolidating power under the Konbaung dynasty. His monetary reforms drew deliberately on the iconography of Srikshetra — the ancient Pyu city-state that had collapsed nearly a millennium earlier — as a calculated claim to civilizational continuity and legitimate kingship over a unified Burma. The Pyu themselves had struck silver coins in broadly similar form, making this issue a conscious archaeological reference, not an organic design evolution.
1797 placed the issue squarely in the years following Bodawpaya's catastrophically overextended invasion of Arakan in 1784–85.
