Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine Sicilian style with flowing, wavy hair cascading behind the neck. The laurel wreath is depicted with individual leaves clearly articulated atop the god's head. The facial features are modelled with sensitivity, displaying a slightly downcast gaze characteristic of late Classical Sicilian coinage. The abbreviated ethnic legend APXAΓETA appears in the left field, identifying Apollo in his capacity as divine leader or founder. A dotted border frames the design along the upper periphery.
