| Obverse description | Amphora depicted facing, rendered in high relief at the center of the flan, with a broad ovoid body tapering to a pointed foot and a short neck flanked by two upswept handles decorated with applied knobs at their upper terminations. The vessel is presented frontally in a plain, unbordered field, characteristic of the archaic-to-classical coinage of Korkyra. The design fills the flan with bold, confident engraving consistent with the civic coinage tradition of the western Greek colonies. |
