Obverse description Draped bust of Hermes facing right, rendered in fine archaic-to-classical style relief. The god wears a broad-brimmed petasos with a distinctive central boss or button on the crown, set above carefully detailed wavy hair falling to the nape of the neck. The facial features are sensitively modelled with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a well-defined jaw. The drapery at the truncation is lightly indicated, consistent with the refined engraving tradition of Mytilene's electrum hekte series.
