| Descrizione del rovescio | Incuse head of a calf facing right, rendered in intaglio relief within a recessed field, consistent with the distinctive two-type incuse technique employed on Mytilenean hektai. The calf's ear is clearly delineated and the mane or neck hair is rendered with undulating wavy lines. To the left of the calf's head appears a rectangular incuse punch subdivided into a grid-like pattern, serving as the secondary control or die mark. The overall composition is characteristic of the paired obverse-reverse typology unique to the electrum hektai of Mytilene. |
