| Obverse description | Confronting head of a roaring lion in right profile, rendered in bold high relief characteristic of early Lesbian electrum coinage. The mane is depicted with deeply incised, radiating striations fanning across the neck and cheek, conveying naturalistic texture. The open jaws reveal the tongue and teeth, imparting a fierce, animate quality to the design. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of archaic hammered electrum issues from Lesbos. |

| Reverse description | Incuse head of a calf facing right, rendered in intaglio relief within a recessed field, consistent with the distinctive two-type incuse technique employed on Mytilenean hektai. The calf's ear is clearly delineated and the mane or neck hair is rendered with undulating wavy lines. To the left of the calf's head appears a rectangular incuse punch subdivided into a grid-like pattern, serving as the secondary control or die mark. The overall composition is characteristic of the paired obverse-reverse typology unique to the electrum hektai of Mytilene. |
