The lily is flanked by various small heraldic and symbolic devices distributed around the field. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters runs along the inner border, reading the issuer's name and title. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hammered medieval gold coinage. The overall design closely follows the Florentine florin prototype adapted for the County of Horn. |
