| Obverse description | Full-length effigy of Duke Arnold of Egmont depicted facing, clad in full plate armour, standing within a beaded inner circle. The duke holds a sword upright in his right hand and an orb or globus cruciger in his left, asserting both martial and sovereign authority. The figure is rendered in the flat, Gothic relief characteristic of fifteenth-century Rhenish gold coinage. A circular Latin legend in uncial characters runs along the outer margin between two beaded borders, identifying the issuer by his titles. |

| Reverse description | Five heraldic shields arranged in the form of a cross, each bearing the coat of arms of one of the duke's territories, set within a cusped or pointed quadrilobe frame typical of late-medieval Low Countries gold coinage. The interstices between the lobes display decorative floral or foliate ornaments. A circular Latin legend in uncial script surrounds the entire composition between beaded borders, referencing the mint city of Arnhem. The overall design follows the well-established Rhenish Gulden type derived from the Florentine florin tradition. |
