The bold, deeply incised capital letters are characteristic of the anonymous and imperial folles of the middle Byzantine period. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven as is typical of hammered Byzantine copper issues. No other decorative elements or imagery are present beyond the epigraphic legend. |
