| Obverse description | Nimbate bust of Saint Peter facing, depicted in Byzantine style with a cross-topped nimbus; the saint is shown draped, holding a key in his right hand. The effigy is rendered in a crude but expressive manner characteristic of Crusader coinage. Greek legend partially visible to either side of the bust, reading OAΠ-TPOC, identifying the saint. The flan is irregular and shows typical surface porosity associated with hammered copper issues of the Principality of Antioch. |
