| Descrizione del dritto | Central field depicts the heraldic arms of Luxembourg within an elaborate shield, surmounted by a crested helmet and flanked by supporters, all rendered in high relief in the Gothic hammered style. A rampant lion, the principal charge of the Luxembourg arms, is prominently displayed within the shield. The composition is contained within a raised inner circle with a beaded border. The circumferential legend in Gothic uncial characters reads +MOnETA⁑ nOVA⁑ LVCEnBVRGENSIS, identifying this as the new coinage of Luxembourg. The overall design reflects the Burgundian Gothic aesthetic characteristic of Philip the Good's monetary issues. |

The saint holds his attribute, the saltire cross (X-shaped cross), which extends diagonally across the figure and dominates the composition. The figure is rendered in the Gothic hammered style with linear drapery folds. An inner beaded border frames the central type, with the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial letters reading ✠SANCTVS⁑ ANDREAS, identifying the saint. The overall design closely follows the Rhenish florin tradition adapted for the Luxembourg mint. |
