The portrait exhibits the refined Hellenistic artistic style favoured during Hadrian's reign, with naturalistic facial modelling. | Popis rubu | The emperor Hadrian is depicted as an equestrian figure, galloping to the right on a prancing horse, his paludamentum billowing behind him as he brandishes a spear held diagonally across his body. The bold, dynamic composition fills the field and conveys imperial military prowess. The abbreviated legend COS III P P appears in the upper field around the periphery, while the senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the lower exergual field, divided on either side of the horse's forelegs. The relief is strongly struck, preserving considerable detail in the horse's musculature and the rider's military dress despite overall wear.
