| Descripción del reverso | The reverse presents a detailed sacrificial scene in which Domitian is depicted standing left, patera in hand, performing a libation over a flaming altar. Behind him rises a hexastyle temple rendered in architectural perspective, its columns and pediment clearly delineated. Flanking the central composition are musicians — a tibicen (flute player) and a citharoedus (lyre player) — evoking the ceremonial pageantry of the Ludi Saeculares of AD 88. The senatorial mark of authority, S C (Senatus Consultum), appears prominently in the field. The surrounding legend records Domitian's fourteenth consulship and his role as organiser of the Secular Games. |
