Behind him rises a hexastyle temple rendered in architectural perspective, its columns and pediment clearly delineated. Flanking the central composition are musicians — a tibicen (flute player) and a citharoedus (lyre player) — evoking the ceremonial pageantry of the Ludi Saeculares of AD 88. The senatorial mark of authority, S C (Senatus Consultum), appears prominently in the field.
