| Descrizione del dritto | Central device depicts the city gate of Genoa surmounted by an open compass, the whole enclosed within a polylobe frame whose interior points are adorned with trefoils, itself surrounded by a beaded border. The gate motif, a long-standing civic emblem of Genoa, is rendered in the angular, stylised manner typical of late medieval Italian hammered coinage. The surrounding legend, inscribed in uncial Latin characters, identifies the issuing doge and his regnal number. The overall composition is contained within a plain circular flan of irregular outline characteristic of hand-struck gold coinage of the period. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A cross pattée occupies the centre of a polylobe frame whose interior points are embellished with trefoils, mirroring the decorative scheme of the obverse, all enclosed by a beaded border. The arms of the cross pattée are boldly rendered and fill the lobed compartments of the inner frame in the tradition of Genoese gold ducats of the medieval period. The peripheral legend, in uncial Latin characters, invokes the name and title of Conrad, King of the Romans, a nominal reference retained by convention on Genoese coinage long after its historical relevance had lapsed. The legend terminates with a mint-official's initial letter, which varies by issue and serves as a control mark to identify the responsible officer. |
