Two attendants or guards stand flanking the altar, one on each side, rendered in a simplified and increasingly schematic manner consistent with late Hephthalite imitative coinage. The overall composition closely follows the Sasanian prototype but shows notable degeneration in the rendering of figures and altar detail. The image is visible though worn and partially obscured by patination and corrosion typical of billon alloy coinage from the Bactrian region. |
