Obverse description Bare-headed bust of a Hephthalite ruler in the 'Napki Malka' tradition, facing right, rendered in a stylized, degenerate Sasanian manner. A tamgha (dynastic symbol) appears in the field behind the bust. The surrounding legend is rendered in cursive pseudo-Greek script, reading 'SRIO SHAHO', a Bactrian royal title. The portrait shows typical late Hephthalite artistic conventions with simplified facial features and no headdress or diadem. The flan is irregular and slightly broader than the die, characteristic of hammered billon issues from the Bactrian mint.
