Obverse description Facing right, the youthful and beardless head of Heracles is rendered in fine Hellenistic relief, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion with the beast's gaping jaws framing the hero's crown and the forepaws knotted at the throat. The modeling of the facial features is accomplished with considerable naturalistic skill, conveying both the heroic vigor and the idealized youth associated with Alexander's royal iconography. A beaded border is visible along the coin's periphery.
