The inscription records the name and titles of the issuing ruler, Shawur ibn al-Fadl, along with formulaic religious or dynastic text. An outer marginal legend in Arabic encircles the central inscription zone, separated from it by a plain or beaded inner border. The outermost edge is defined by a beaded or dotted rim consistent with hammered silver coinage of the Shaddadid dynasty. The strike is moderately well-centred, typical of irregular hand-struck dirhams of this period. |
