| Descrizione del dritto | Central field bears a multi-line Kufic Arabic religious inscription arranged in three to four horizontal lines within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a circular marginal legend in Kufic script. The marginal inscription is enclosed between two decorative dotted or beaded borders. The overall layout closely imitates the Samanid dirham prototype, with the field text presenting the shahada or a related Islamic declaration of faith. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edge, characteristic of Volga Bulgarian imitative coinage of the early 10th century. |
