| Opis awersu |
Entirely epigraphic design executed in Kufic Arabic script, arranged concentrically across multiple registers. The central field contains a multi-line Arabic religious and royal inscription set within a small inner circle, surrounded by a dotted border. A second circular band carries a continuation of the legend, enclosed between concentric plain fillets. The outermost broad marginal band bears a further Arabic inscription running around the full circumference of the coin. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, typical of Fatimid-influenced Sicilian gold coinage of this period; a suspension hole is pierced at the top. |
