| 背面描述 | Full-length frontal figure of Christ Pantokrator standing in an attitude of blessing, nimbed and dressed in imperial Byzantine robes, holding the Gospels in his left hand and raising his right hand in benediction. The figure is rendered in a formal, hieratic style consistent with Byzantine iconographic convention. Greek nomina sacra abbreviations IC and XC (for Jesus Christ) are inscribed to either side of the figure in the field. The design is enclosed within a beaded border, the irregular flan reflecting hand-hammered production. |

Dušan struck this type to commemorate his coronation as Emperor of the Serbs and Greeks in Skopje on April 16, 1346 — an event he engineered by first elevating the Serbian archbishopric to a patriarchate specifically so that a patriarch of sufficient rank would exist to crown him. The imperial pretension was explicit and deliberate, aimed squarely at Constantinople.
The Jovanović classification distinguishes at least four die variants within this type, reflecting the volume of output needed to fund and celebrate the new imperial court.
