The goddess's features are rendered in the fine fourth-century Karian style, with softly modeled cheeks and delicately incised coiffure. A ship's prow appears behind the neck, serving as a secondary device alluding to Knidos's maritime significance. The Greek ethnic legend ΚΝΙΔΙΩΝ runs along the periphery of the flan.
