| 正面描述 | Laureate and bearded head of Zeus facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed flowing hair and curled beard in the Hellenistic tradition. The portrait displays strong modelling of the facial features, with a prominent brow and well-articulated locks radiating from the laurel wreath. The field is plain and the design is contained within a plain dotted border (beaded border) encircling the entire flan. |

Sagalassos was among the most politically agile cities in Pisidia during Rome's reorganization of Anatolia following Actium. The city had backed the winning side consistently enough that Augustus confirmed its civic privileges early, and local silver issues of this transitional period reflect a municipality still operating under Hellenistic monetary conventions while Roman provincial structures were only beginning to solidify. The didrachm weight standard here belongs firmly to the old Attic-derived coinage rather than anything Rome imposed.
The SNG von Aulock 5153 correspondence places this piece within a tightly documented group.
