| Descrizione del dritto | Diademed and draped bust of Juba II facing right, portrayed with curly hair bound by a royal diadem, the ends of which fall behind the neck; the effigy reflects Hellenistic royal portraiture conventions adopted by the Mauretanian court. The circular Latin legend REX IVBA runs around the periphery of the field, identifying the issuing monarch. The flan is slightly irregular, as is characteristic of hammered silver coinage of this period and mint. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Victory personified standing to left atop an elephant head, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition; she holds a laurel wreath in her extended right hand and a tall palm branch in her left, symbolising triumph and royal glory. The elephant head beneath her feet alludes to Mauretania's African heritage and its celebrated war elephants. The control mark R XXXI appears in the left field behind the figure, indicating regnal year XXXI (31) of Juba II's reign. The composition is clean and bold, typical of the Caesarea mint's silver issues under Juba II. |
