| Beschrijving keerzijde | Highly schematised and heavily degraded representation of the goddess Ardoksho seated facing, her form reduced through repeated copying to an abstract arrangement of lines and geometric shapes, with the royal name legend disposed around the central device. Brahmi characters naming the ruler Namvihaksha are arranged in the field, the overall composition typical of the post-Kidarite debased dinar series where iconographic fidelity has been largely lost. The reverse field retains vestiges of the original Kushano-Sasanian Ardoksho type from which this series ultimately derives. |
