Reverse description A long cross with a fleur-de-lis in each of the four angles, the entire design enclosed within a raised quatrefoil border; three pellets and a mintmark 'A' (for Aix-en-Provence) are placed in the angles between the arms of the quatrefoil. The circular legend in Gothic uncial script, SIT nOmEn D BEnEDITVm A (Blessed be the name of the Lord), runs between two concentric beaded borders and is punctuated by pellet stops.
