The circumferential Latin legend, interrupted by a mullet stop, reads + LVDOVICUS *DALPh[ ]VS*VIE, identifying Louis as Dauphin of Viennois. The coin exhibits the irregular flan shape and uneven strike relief typical of hammered billon production of the period. |
