The composition celebrates Trajan's Parthian campaigns and his posthumous triumphal honors awarded by Hadrian. The reverse legend TRIVMPHVS PARTHICVS arcs across the upper field. The design reflects the high artistic standard of the Roman Imperial mint under early Hadrianic posthumous issues. |
