Beschrijving voorzijde Bare head of Mark Antony facing right, rendered in a bold and naturalistic style characteristic of late Republican portraiture, with short curly hair and a prominent beard visible on the chin and jaw. The portrait is centrally placed within the flan, occupying most of the coin's field. The circumferential legend M • ANTONIVS • III • VIR • R • P • C runs around the periphery, identifying the subject as Marcus Antonius, triumvir for the reconstitution of the Republic. The flan is irregular in outline, as typical of hammered gold coinage of the period.
Schrift voorzijde Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde A seated female figure, identified as Victoria or a goddess of similar iconography, depicted facing left in three-quarter view, holding a long sceptre or spear upright in her right hand and resting her left arm on a large oval shield set on the ground beside her. The figure is draped and rendered with fine detail in the drapery folds, consistent with late Republican die-cutting style. The legend L • REGVLVS IIII • VIR • A • P • F is distributed around the field, naming Lucius Livineius Regulus as one of the quattuorviri auro argento aere flando feriundo, the magistrates responsible for the striking of coinage. The flan is broad and irregular, with a generally plain field.
