The legend is divided on either side of the effigy, reading L·SESTI to the right and PRO·Q to the left, identifying the issuing magistrate Lucius Sestius in his capacity as proquaestor. The field is plain and the design is contained within a neat border of beaded dots. |

To the lower left stands a sacrificial axe (securis) and to the lower right a simpulum (libation ladle), both rendered as priestly implements associated with Roman religious ceremony. The circular legend Q·CAEPIO·BRVTVS·PRO·COS runs around the upper and lateral field, naming the proconsul Quintus Caepio Brutus as the issuing commander. The design is enclosed within a border of evenly spaced beaded dots, and the field is otherwise plain. |
