The portrait conveys a sense of authority and realism consistent with the veristic tradition of Roman imperial coinage. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of hammered bronze coinage of this period, and the surface shows a green patina from age. |

The partial legend COS DESIG III TR POT appears around the upper periphery of the flan.
