| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Domitian facing right, draped with aegis over the left shoulder, rendered in bold high relief characteristic of Flavian imperial portraiture. The emperor's effigy displays the characteristic strong facial features associated with Domitianic coinage, with the laurel wreath tightly fitted to the head. The circular legend runs along the periphery of the flan, interrupted at the base of the bust. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hammered bronze coinage of this period. |

The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently displayed in large letters in the left and right fields respectively.
