| Obverse description | The obverse bears a multi-line Arabic calligraphic legend filling the entire field, reading the Sultan's tughra-style titulature: 'Sultan Mustafa bin Ahmed Han dame mulke darebe fi Islambol 1171,' with the regnal year or last two digits of the Hijri year positioned above the letter N of the Sultan's name in the third row depending on the variety (KM#324.1 and KM#324.2 respectively). The inscription is executed in bold Ottoman naskh script and is enclosed within a broad beaded border. Weight varies from 23.50 to 30.00 grams and diameter from 43.00 to 45.00 mm across specimens. |
