| 正面描述 | Hammered silver flan of irregular round form bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in raised calligraphic script across the entire field, divided by a horizontal line. The legend reads in four lines: 'Sultan Shah Selim Ibn Bayezid Han,' identifying the ruler as Sultan Selim I, son of Bayezid II. The script is executed in the characteristic bold Ottoman thuluth style typical of early sixteenth-century akçes. No border or decorative frame is present, with the inscription filling the coin surface to the very edges. The flat, uneven flan surface reflects standard hammered production technique of the Ottoman mint workshops. |

Selim I's reign was too short and too violent for much administrative normalcy — he executed two of his own brothers and several of his sons before consolidating power, then spent the following years dismantling the Safavid and Mamluk empires in sequence. The "Han" epithet appearing on this akçe type reflects his use of the Turco-Mongol title alongside the Islamic sultanate formula, a deliberate layering of legitimacies aimed at Central Asian as much as Anatolian audiences.
