The imperial effigy is depicted in the provincial style, with the legend distributed around the periphery. A small countermark depicting a helmeted bust is visible in the right field, applied after the original striking. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of large provincial bronze issues of the Severan period. |

The reverse type reflects the prominence of the cult of Hecate at Stratonicea, where she was the principal civic deity. |
