| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, with his characteristic full beard rendered in tightly curled locks. The imperial effigy is depicted in the provincial style, with the legend distributed around the periphery. A small countermark depicting a helmeted bust is visible in the right field, applied after the original striking. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of large provincial bronze issues of the Severan period. |
