At his feet, the infant Telephus nurses from a doe, referencing the foundational myth of Telephus, legendary ancestor of the Mysian city of Germe, and closely tied to the Pergamene royal house. The reverse legend, arranged in the field, records the name of the first archon Aurelius Naevianus and the ethnic designation of the Germenians. |
