Beschrijving voorzijde Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, presented from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of later Severan provincial coinage. The emperor's paludamentum and muscled cuirass are rendered in relief, with the laureate wreath clearly articulated above the nape. A Greek legend encircles the bust within the field, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The die engraving exhibits the robust, slightly provincial style associated with the Smyrna conventus workshop.

Beschrijving keerzijde Two standing female divinities face one another at the centre of the reverse field, united in a cultic pairing emblematic of the civic alliance between Phocaea and Amisus. At left, the Tyche of Phocaea stands facing, head turned right, holding a long sceptre before her. Opposite, the Demeter of Amisus stands facing, head turned left, bearing a long torch and an ear of corn as attributes of her chthonic and agrarian character. The composition is framed by a circular Greek legend naming the presiding strategos and the two allied cities. The engraving reflects the monumental, hieratic style of large-module Severan provincial bronzes.
