The obverse legend encircling the imperial effigy reads ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟϹ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The portrait exhibits the refined engraving style typical of high-quality Pergamene civic coinage of the Antonine period, with carefully rendered drapery folds over the military cuirass. The reverse legend ΚΗΤΙΟϹ ϹΕΛΕΙΝΟΥϹ ΠΕΡΓΑΜΗΝΩΝ Β ΝΕΟΚΟΡΩΝ proudly proclaims Pergamum's distinguished status as twice neokoros, a prestigious title denoting the city's role as twice-appointed guardian of the imperial cult.
