| Descrizione del dritto | Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, with characteristic long beard and elongated curling locks, facing right and presented from a rear three-quarter perspective. The obverse legend encircling the imperial effigy reads ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟϹ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The portrait exhibits the refined engraving style typical of high-quality Pergamene civic coinage of the Antonine period, with carefully rendered drapery folds over the military cuirass. The combination of paludamentum and armour reinforces the emperor's role as both military commander and divine ruler. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Elaborate reverse composition featuring the standing figure of Tyche, the tutelary deity of Pergamum, positioned centrally in the background, holding a ship's rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left. In the foreground, the two local river-gods Ketios and Seleinous are depicted reclining and facing one another, each leaning upon an overturned water-urn from which water flows, symbolising the rivers of the Pergamene territory. The reverse legend ΚΗΤΙΟϹ ϹΕΛΕΙΝΟΥϹ ΠΕΡΓΑΜΗΝΩΝ Β ΝΕΟΚΟΡΩΝ proudly proclaims Pergamum's distinguished status as twice neokoros, a prestigious title denoting the city's role as twice-appointed guardian of the imperial cult. The scene reflects the sophisticated civic iconography for which Pergamene bronze coinage of the Antonine era is renowned. |
