| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and pinned, with characteristic Antonine-period waves drawn back from the forehead. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style, with bold, somewhat broad modeling typical of Egyptian mint workmanship. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the empress as Augusta and daughter of the deified Pius. The coin shows the characteristic reddish-brown patina and irregular flan edges common to Alexandrian bronze issues of this period. |
