Obverse description Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and pinned, with characteristic Antonine-period waves drawn back from the forehead. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style, with bold, somewhat broad modeling typical of Egyptian mint workmanship. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the empress as Augusta and daughter of the deified Pius. The coin shows the characteristic reddish-brown patina and irregular flan edges common to Alexandrian bronze issues of this period.

Reverse description Athena standing facing, head turned to left, wearing helmet and aegis, extending her right hand to hold a Nike (Victory figurine), while her left hand rests upon a large grounded shield. Flanking the goddess on either side are what appear to be altars or stelae, the precise identification of which remains uncertain. The regnal year date appears in the field, rendered in the standard Alexandrian dating formula using the Egyptian calendar year. The reverse composition reflects the Alexandrian mint's frequent use of Athena as a reverse type, drawing on both Greco-Roman and local religious traditions.
