| 裏面の説明 | Athena standing right, helmeted and draped, resting her right hand upon a spear and her left upon a round shield set on the ground, facing Hermes who stands to the left. Hermes is depicted nude but for a chlamys draped over his left arm, holding a purse in his extended right hand and a caduceus in his left. The composition presents the two deities in a confronted arrangement, a iconographic type common to Phrygian civic bronzes of the imperial period. The ethnic legend ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ appears in the field or along the periphery of the reverse. |
