The legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ ('Sacred Senate') is distributed in the field around the bust, serving as an honorific invocation of Roman senatorial authority. The portrait is executed in low relief consistent with Phrygiaan provincial workshop practice of the Trajanic period. |

| Descripción del reverso | Athena standing right, helmeted and draped, resting her right hand upon a spear and her left upon a round shield set on the ground, facing Hermes who stands to the left. Hermes is depicted nude but for a chlamys draped over his left arm, holding a purse in his extended right hand and a caduceus in his left. The composition presents the two deities in a confronted arrangement, a iconographic type common to Phrygian civic bronzes of the imperial period. The ethnic legend ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ appears in the field or along the periphery of the reverse. |
